This morning our wonderful R.A made us breakfast!! Pancakes, freshly cut strawberries and pineapple, and Simply Mango Juice :) It was delicious and definitely worth getting out of bed at 9 o'clock for.
We all walked into the kitchen looking like zombies but by the time we got food in our stomachs we were pretty chatty.
After our fantastic breakfast a few of us went down to the "Women of Faith" Bible study that we have once every month. It was really good! One of our professors talked to us about Luke 9: 51-62. And how God doesn't want second, third, or fourteenth place in our lives. He wants to be #1.
It was very relaxed, all of us being in our pj's, coffee in hand, listening to a woman much wiser than ourselves. I was very thankful to have been able to go this morning.
Saturdays are pretty nice.
They are relaxing.
You can stop in on people and say hi.
Have conversations that take time.
Sit listening to music while getting ready for the day, again taking time.
No real deadlines to get work done, you've got all day to do it after all and even tomorrow if necessary.
No one looks at you funny if you take naps on Saturdays.
I think it's obvious to say... I like Saturdays.
HA on that note I also like taking my time. I'm not lazy, I just like to chill sometimes.
Or maybe I just miss Mayberry...
And now to get that work done... or maybe take a nap we'll see which one wins out :)

Ephesians 6:10-20
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, makingsupplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

Semester 2 on 2nd Old
Second Semester has started!! Crazy since I can clearly remember being dropped off my very first day. Time flies when you are studying hard, making new friends, and having fun I guess.
Have you ever said something but were thinking something entirely different? Well this has happened to me quite a few times in my existence. And today someone asked me what year I was and I said "I'm a junior" Wait what? Where did that come from?!? "No that is entirely false, I am sorry I don't know where that came from. I am a freshman." I'm in a 300 course so maybe that is why I said junior and I was thinking she was a junior, but still it was weird. Do not worry mom, I am not ready to be that old yet :)

Of courses with a new semester comes fun nights on 2nd Old. After a quick swim, Sammy and I came just in time for a hilarious round of Fish Bowl. It's funny how when you live with people you can understand what they are trying to describe. The first round was like playing catch phrase, the second we were only allowed to use one word. Finally, the third round we were only allowed to use sounds. Describing Alaska using only sounds is really hard! My team dominated 56 to 52. oh yeah. Then of course we took hilarious pictures throughout the night. Oh, the joys of having a digital camera.

It will be a good semester I'm thinking. I can't believe it is already the end of our first week back!

Road Trippin' it with Dad
We dropped mom off at the Sacramento airport, and a few hours later dropped Lisa off. After a very short trip we came back to the airport to return Lisa's new Brad Paisley cd (which we told her we would gladly hold on to for her but she didn't like that very much...). Seeing as how we were there and she was still standing there, we thought a picture would be nice for the beginning of the road trip.
California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and finally into Ontario Canada.
Once we entered Utah there was nothing for literally miles and miles and miles. We passed on service station after crossing the line and the sign said last service station for 83 miles.... Good thing we had lots of gas and the Honda was running good.
Driving for miles down this road, not another soul in sight, listening to bluegrass and old country music on the a.m radio station... Just take the car and road away, give us two horses and it would have seemed like a scene in a John Wayne movie.
We moved into Colorado from Utah. We stopped at one road stop and it was beautiful! The mountains, the river, the train tracks, the cold (do not let dad's shorts fool you, it was cold!)
We drove up the Rockies (the first time I have ever been there) and took a detour at the ski resort of Vale, Colorado for an hour or so to walk around. There were a lot of people there!
Dad bought a t-shirt that said "Got Oxygen?" and I bought a sweatshirt. Ha wannabes maybe, good memories yes :)
After Colorado we entered the more... flat states... Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana. In Indiana we thought we would take another short break and walk around at the famous Cabela's. We looked at all the animals that were stuffed around the store. Dad bought shoes. And we enjoyed a Bison deli sandwich. A fun excuse to stretch our legs.
We hit Michigan soon after and then crossed the border.
2,735 miles, 4 nights and 5 days.
We arrived home with a few pictures, no more dents in the car, a couple souvenirs, lots of coffee, and some good memories :)
